Does Cludo support bigram matching?

Cludo supports bigram matching as one of multiple natural language processing tools.

Bigram matching allows better support for compound words, meaning words consisting of multiple words.

Example

When searching for “bluebird” results containing “blue bird” as neighboring words would also appear.
When searching for “blue bird” results containing “bluebird” would also appear.

Bigram matching is especially useful for certain languages where compound words are very common, such as the Nordic languages. It can also be useful for automatically fixing simple misspellings with a missing or an extra space in the search term.

How does this affect ranking?

Bigram matching adds a relevance boost when it finds a match, it does not replace normal scoring. A page still earns relevance from several factors, so a page that repeats one of your query words many times can outrank a page where the words appear together, even though bigram matching found no match on the second page.
