What are Intents?

Intents is the name of a feature that analyses all search terms and attempts to group them by a specific subject. This allows better analytics of the overall intent of the visitor, without having to manually combine a lot of similar search terms.

Using machine learning, all search terms are analyzed in an attempt to find synonyms and similar search terms. These search terms can be viewed, grouped by the overall topic determined by the Intents feature, in the MyCludo analytics and used to drive further actions in both the search engine configuration and the website as a whole.

There are 3 different types of intents to see in the analytics:

Ineffective Intents

Ineffective intents are intents where users have difficulty finding what they’re looking for, leveraging the click-through rate (CTR) and search frequency to calculate the severity of their ineffectiveness.

Ineffective intents reveal areas of your search that are not working because of a high rate of failure to find the desired content.

Trending Intents

Trending intents highlight intents that have seen increased search traffic compared to the previous period.

Top Intents

Top Intents are the most popular intents across the site. They allow an overview of the website’s most sought-after content.
